GE TIMECONTROL INSTALL
Install the new water inlet valve in your washing machine and secure it by applying the two Philips screws at the back of the washing machine. Get your new water inlet valve assembly out of its pack. Pull the water inlet valve assembly out of the washing machine. Use your Philips screwdriver to take out the two mounting screws at the back of your washing machine holding the water inlet valve. Disconnect the hose from the water inlet valve assembly. Use a pair of pliers to press the clamp holding the hose to the water inlet valve and slide the hose out of place. Disconnect the solenoid wires connected to the water inlet valve inside the washing machine’s cabinet (make sure to take note of the positioning of each wire before disconnecting anything). Slide the top panel back a few inches and lift it off your washing machine.
Take out the screws at the back of your washing machine holding the top panel with a Philips screwdriver. Remember to keep a rag nearby in case water spills out of the hoses Detach the water inlet hoses from the inlet ports at the back of your washing machine. Avoid electrocution or water leakage by making sure to turn off your washing machine’s power and water supply before attempting any repairs. Here’s what you need to do to replace damaged water inlet valve in your GE front loader washing machine… Once you’ve done this, run a wash cycle to ensure that everything is working properly. Plug your washing machine back to its power outlet and turn on the water supply. Reconnect the water inlet hoses back to the water inlet ports at the back of your washing machine. Put the control panel back on and secure it by applying the screws at the back. Connect each solenoid wire connector to its appropriate terminal on the new water inlet valve assembly. Connect the hose to the new water inlet valve and secure it by sliding the retaining clamp in place. Install the new water inlet valve assembly in your washing machine and secure it by using a Philips screwdriver to apply the three mounting screws at the back. Pull the water inlet valve assembly out of your washing machine. Remove the mounting screws holding the water inlet valve to your washing machine with a screwdriver. Use a pair of pliers to press the clamp on the hose connected to the water inlet valve and slide the hose out of place.
Disconnect each of the solenoid wires from the water inlet valve. The water inlet valve will be mounted on the control panel bracket. Slide the control panel sideways and detach it from your washing machine. Use your screwdriver to remove the screws at the back of the washing machine holding the control panel. Go to the back of your washing machine and disconnect the water inlet hoses (in case water spills out, make sure to have a rag nearby). In order to avoid electrocution or water damage, ensure that you do not attempt any repairs on your washing machine without turning off the water and power supply first.
